A graduate of Stanford University and Loma Linda University School of Medicine, Dr. Park completed her combined residency in Family Medicine and Psychiatry at the University of California at Davis Medical Center. She also served as Chief Resident for the combined Family Medicine and Psychiatry program during her last year of residency. She is triple-board certified in Family Medicine, Psychiatry and Obesity Medicine.
Her professional interests include metabolic psychiatry, integration of mental health into primary care, psychodynamic psychotherapy, mental health in emerging adulthood and in older adults. Since graduation, she has had a broad range of work experience in multiple different settings including a start-up telemedicine company, county mental health hospital, managed care, community health centers, intensive outpatient residential care, UCI Counseling Center and the UCI Department of Psychiatry. She has also served as a consultant and practice coach for the Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP) with their BHICCI (Behavioral Health Integration Complex Care Initiative) and HHP (Health Homes Program) projects.
Dr. Park has worked extensively with college/graduate students, young professionals and older adults. She is also particularly well-equipped with her primary care training to help patients dealing with stress, anxiety or depression related to comorbid medical illnesses. She is now board-certified in Obesity Medicine and can discuss the intersection of adiposity-based disease and mental health. She utilizes targeted pharmacogenomic and other diagnostic testing when indicated to improve medication selection and reduce trial-and-error pharmacotherapy. She strives to provide culturally competent whole-person care by creating holistic, multifaceted treatment plans in partnership with every patient. She keeps a smaller patient panel to ensure that she can provide concierge-type attention to everyone in her practice and have the time to provide combined medication and psychotherapy if needed.
In addition to her private practice, Dr. Park currently works as the program psychiatrist for the ReConnect Program with the Council on Aging and provides telepsychiatry services to a rural primary care clinic via LocumTenens.
